Ice cream in Sugar Cones, Cake Cones, and Waffle Cones

When you walk into a Baskin-Robbins shop, the choices seem to be endless. From all of the different ice cream flavors to rows of toppings, and plenty of milkshakes and floats to choose from, we aim to provide every guest with their favorite ice cream choice.

One decision that also needs to be taken into consideration is HOW you want your ice cream. If you’re someone who likes to savor each lick by getting your scoops in a cone, we’ve got you covered with three delightful choices to hold your go-to flavor or new Baskin-Robbins favorite. Keep reading to learn the difference between our Sugar Cones, Cake Cones, and Waffle Cones.

Sugar Cone

Our Sugar Cone is a traditional ice cream cone that is a favorite of many. The quintessential ice cream cone is made with a solid round edge that makes it a sturdy option for those who want to scoop more than one flavor onto their cone. Sugar Cones can sometimes be mistaken for waffle cones because of the lattice pattern you see imprinted on them, but while both have a cone shape with a pointy tip at the bottom, the Sugar Cone has a flat brim. Sugar Cones are made with sugar and molasses, so they are a sweet and tasty vehicle for any flavor of ice cream. At Baskin-Robbins, we even have different options like the Chocolate Dipped Sugar Cones as well as Fancy Sugar Cones, which are cones dipped in chocolate and topped with toppings like rainbow sprinkles, chopped almonds and other delicious options!

Cake Cone

Cake Cones are a bit lighter than Sugar Cones and have more of a crisp, wafer texture. The flavor of a Cake Cone is a bit milder than a sweet Sugar Cone, and it has a flat bottom versus a pointed bottom, making it easier for kids to set down their cone if they need to. Cake Cones are a great option that have a subtle flavor to them, really allowing the taste of the ice cream to shine through. Also, because there is a flat bottom, there is no chance of your ice cream leaking through on a hot day. Just like our Sugar Cones and Waffle Cones, Baskin-Robbins offers chocolate dipped and Fancy Cake Cones that are dipped in chocolate and topped with different toppings.

Waffle Cone

The Waffle Cone is the ice cream cone of all ice cream cones and is the perfect sweet and crunchy holder for all of your favorite flavors! Baskin-Robbins Waffle Cones are freshly baked in-shop with a hint of cinnamon that fills the air with an enticing bakery-like aroma. With a point at the bottom and a wide mouth opening at the top, a Waffle Cone can typically hold more ice cream than a Sugar or Cake Cone. The wide brim is also great for those who like to pile on the toppings – whether you enjoy hot fudge, brownie pieces, M&Ms®, whipped cream, or a combination, your Baskin-Robbins Waffle Cone will hold it all without spilling. In addition to chocolate-dipped and Fancy Waffle Cones, many Baskin-Robbins shops also offer Waffle Bowls, which transform your sundae cup into a delectable part of the treat itself and are made fresh every day, providing yet another exciting way to customize your dessert!
